Qatar tourism event calendar expansion

Overview

Visit Qatar has introduced the ‘Qatar Calendar’, a unified national platform featuring more than 560 events, festivals, and championships scheduled through 2027. The initiative involves approximately 780 public and private sector partners and aims to strengthen Qatar’s position as a global tourism destination by attracting international visitors and extending their average stay.

The calendar integrates a wide range of activities, including major sporting competitions such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Lusail International Circuit, the MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix, the FIFA U-17 World Cup, and the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2027. Cultural and artistic programming also forms a central pillar, featuring events like Art Basel Qatar and performances by various musical artists.

To promote the program, Visit Qatar is utilizing digital versions across 120 countries via Qatari embassies and distributing 35,000 printed copies monthly, with a specific focus on the growing demand from the GCC region.
