Querétaro agricultural support for Sierra producers
Overview
The Querétaro Secretariat of Agricultural Development (SEDEA) has implemented support programs for producers in the Sierra region to mitigate the effects of adverse weather conditions.
In the Sierra Gorda area, SEDEA distributed 11.5 tons of nutritional supplements to 70 beekeepers across the municipalities of Landa de Matamoros, Jalpan de Serra, Pinal de Amoles, and Arroyo Seco. This aid aims to maintain honey production following droughts that reduced pollen availability.
Simultaneously, the Secretariat provided 5.7 tons of feed and 14,000 fingerlings to 36 tilapia farmers in Jalpan, Arroyo Seco, and Pinal de Amoles. This initiative is intended to boost aquaculture productivity and support livelihoods for producers using fish for both commercial sale and self-consumption.
