Quinbrook Supernode battery project development
Overview
Quinbrook is advancing its Supernode battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Brendale, north of Brisbane. The project has reached significant development milestones, including the completion of Stage 2 commercial operations and achieving financial close on A$469 million in debt financing for Stage 3.
Total financing for Stages 1, 2, and 3 is approximately A$1.2 billion. Once completed, the Supernode campus is expected to exceed 3 GWh in capacity, reaching 780MW / 3,074MWh. CATL is the core energy storage system supplier for the project. Located near the South Pine substation, the facility is intended to support the energy transition and infrastructure investment in Queensland.
