Quoc Tu Giam 950th anniversary commemorations

Overview

In commemoration of the 950th anniversary of the establishment of Quoc Tu Giam, the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam heritage site in Hanoi has hosted a series of cultural and artistic events.

On September 12, the site hosted the ‘Khai Van’ art program, directed by designer Minh Hanh. The performance utilized the Vuon Giam area as a stage, incorporating light displays and music to honor Vietnamese academic traditions. The program was structured around five core values: ‘Khai Tam’, ‘Khai Tri’, ‘Khai Chi’, ‘Khai Nghiep’, and ‘Khai Sang’.

Following this, the second ‘Sac Tam 2026’ exhibition opened on October 3. This event featured contemporary lacquer artworks paired with the sensory experience of agarwood incense. The exhibition included works from 19 different artists, aiming to create a dialogue between modern expression and the historical atmosphere of the site.
