Railway incident at Trenčín station, Slovakia

Overview

On 1 August 2024, a 68-year-old man was injured after entering the tracks without authorization at the Trenčín railway station in Slovakia. A passenger train traveling from Bratislava to Púchov struck the individual between the second and third platforms.

The victim sustained lower limb injuries and was hospitalized in non-life-threatening condition. Police spokesperson Petra Klenková stated that the driver tested negative for alcohol, while toxicological samples were taken from the victim, who is suspected of being under the influence. The incident remains under investigation by railway police.
