Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau bribery investigations

Overview

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has conducted several trap operations targeting bribery in different sectors.

In late September, the ACB arrested two middlemen in Rajsamand for allegedly accepting Rs 25 lakh on behalf of a Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Superintendent in Udaipur. The bribe was reportedly intended to resolve legal and administrative issues, such as halting recovery proceedings and settling show-cause notices. A tax official was also detained, and searches were conducted at his residence.

In October, the ACB arrested a Grade-I court clerk and a driver in the Banswara district. The driver was caught accepting Rs 40,000 on behalf of a reader to the Chief Judicial Magistrate. The payment was allegedly demanded to prevent a complainant’s bail from being cancelled and to avoid conviction in a pending case.
