Randy Travis album release and tour

Overview

Country music artist Randy Travis is preparing to release a new album, titled ‘Same Old Way’, on November 13. This project represents his first release of entirely new material in 18 years and consists of 12 original songs recorded between 1986 and 2013 that were previously held in a vault. Producer Kyle Lehning assembled, remixed, and remastered the tracks with input from Travis.

The release is notable as Travis has been unable to sing following a 2013 stroke that resulted in aphasia. In anticipation of the album, Travis and his wife, Mary, shared some of the music with families at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis. One preview track, ‘I Know Where I’d Be Without You’, is described as a song of devotion to his wife.

Alongside the album release, Travis is conducting his ‘More Life Tour’, a 54-city run concluding in November. Due to his speech impairments, Travis does not sing during these performances; instead, he appears on stage with his wife while singer James Dupré performs his hits accompanied by Travis’ longtime touring band.
