Recreational and memorial hiking in Hungary and Slovakia

Overview

In Hungary and Slovakia, new recreational and memorial hiking initiatives have been introduced. In Fonyód, Hungary, the ‘Panorama Cardio Trail’ was inaugurated on October 3 as part of the ‘Path to Health’ program. This initiative, started by the Budapest Szent Ferenc Hospital, features land routes and a two-kilometer kayak section designed to support individuals with cardiovascular issues, diabetes, or high blood pressure.

Additionally, a memorial hike dedicated to Márton Róth, a pioneer of regional nature research and tourism, took place in the Káposztafalvi-karszt region. Approximately forty participants from Hungary and Upper Hungary completed a 15-kilometer trek through the Nagy-sólyom-völgy gorge to honor his legacy.
