Regional development initiatives in Ñuble, Chile

The Ñuble region of Chile is pursuing diverse development strategies involving international industry engagement and domestic labor coordination.

In the audiovisual sector, four production companies from the region participated in a commercial mission to Hollywood. Organized by ProChile and the Chile Film Commission, the delegation met with executives from major studios and streaming platforms, such as Sony Pictures Entertainment, Disney, and Netflix, to promote regional locations and Chilean professional talent. During the mission, filmmaker Tomás Alzamora highlighted the necessity for state policies, including tax incentives, to attract large-scale foreign productions.

Simultaneously, the region has introduced the National Labor Demand Strategy for Investment (ENADI). This initiative seeks to link regional investment projects with employment by coordinating between the public and private sectors. The strategy utilizes Municipal Labor Information Offices (OMIL) and institutions like SENCE and ChileValora to align workforce training and competency certification with the specific needs of upcoming projects.
