Regional financial reporting in Puglia and Lazio

Regional financial reporting and budget management in Puglia and Lazio have undergone recent scrutiny and legislative action.

In Puglia, the Regional Council's First Commission approved the 2025 general financial report, noting approximately 16 billion euros in recognized revenue and 15.8 billion euros in committed expenditures. This resulted in a positive competence balance exceeding 715 million euros.

In Lazio, the Regional Accounting Control Committee approved the 2025 general regional report, though officials noted “chronic delays in the submission of documents” by certain entities. To address management issues and aging residues, a cycle of audits was announced for September.

Following these reports, the Lazio Budget Commission approved the recognition of approximately 9.48 million euros in off-budget debts. Presented by Regional Budget Assessor Giancarlo Righini, the measure primarily addresses costs from executive court sentences, with 8.89 million euros allocated to the Directorate of Health and Socio-Sanitary Integration for litigation and legal affairs. Additional funds were allocated to the Directorate of Digital Transformation and Procurement and the Regional Advocacy office.
