Relai Bitcoin startup funding and expansion
Overview
Zurich-based Bitcoin startup Relai has secured new financing to expand its services and market presence. In early September, the company announced a funding round featuring participation from Swiss finance influencer Fabio Marchesin, who joined as an investor and advisor to assist with marketing and positioning in Swiss and European markets. CEO Julian Liniger noted the partnership is intended to drive the company toward becoming a ‘Bitcoin Unicorn.’
By late September, Relai secured an additional US$2.5 million in funding, bringing its total valuation to US$90 million. This round included existing venture capital investors alongside new backers Fabio Marchesin and German author Marc Friedrich.
Relai plans to use the capital to enhance its mobile application, strengthen cybersecurity and artificial intelligence capabilities, and facilitate expansion within the European Union. The company, which operates through its French subsidiary Relai EU SASU holding a MiCA license, intends to launch a redesigned app and new Bitcoin savings plan features by the end of the year.
