Release of Brazilian film Se Eu Fosse Você 3

Overview

The Brazilian comedy film “Se Eu Fosse Você 3” has moved from its festival previews to a wide theatrical release. Following early screenings at the 28th Festival do Rio, the film officially premiered in Brazilian cinemas on October 8, 2026.

Set two decades after previous installments, the narrative shifts the franchise’s signature body-swapping premise to a new generation. While veteran actors Tony Ramos and Gloria Pires reprise their roles as Claudio and Helena—who are depicted as older characters on a second honeymoon—the plot centers on their adult daughter, Bia (Cleo Pires), and her partner, Aquiles (Rafael Infante). In this installment, Bia and Aquiles experience a supernatural body swap, allowing the story to explore themes of partnership and empathy through their perspectives.

During the festival premiere on October 2, actress Cleo Pires celebrated her 44th birthday. Pires, who received her first acting award at the festival over 20 years ago, expressed deep emotion regarding the project in a social media post, noting the significance of starring in the franchise alongside her mother, Glória Pires. She also extended gratitude to director Anita Barbosa and the production team.

Directed by Anita Barbosa with a script by Leandro Soares, the production is supervised by Daniel Filho. During the film’s festival premiere, Pires and Ramos reflected on their careers; Pires noted that “interesting characters make it difficult to slow her work pace,” while Ramos stated that despite desiring a quieter life, he “would not retire if a fascinating project were to arise.” The film is produced by Total International and distributed by Buena Vista International.
