Release of Japanese film Jikyu 300-en no Shinigami

Overview

The film ‘Jikyu 300-en no Shinigami’ (The Reaper with an Hourly Wage of 300 Yen), based on a novel by Maru Fuji, began its promotional cycle in late September 2026 with the release of a full trailer. The fantasy drama follows a college student, Shinji Sakura, who takes a part-time job as a ‘reaper’ to help deceased souls fulfill their final wishes.

Following the trailer release, the film held a premiere event at TOHO Cinemas Umeda on October 2. Lead actors Daigo Nishihata and Riko Fukumoto, along with co-star Seiei Ozawa, attended the event to discuss the film’s blend of fantasy and realistic human emotion.
