Release of Vietnamese drama Căn Nhà Không Mái Che

Overview

Anticipation is building for the Vietnamese television drama ‘Căn Nhà Không Mái Che’ (The House Without a Roof), scheduled to premiere on VTV3 on October 12. Set in the Northern Midlands region during the 2010s, the series features the first onscreen pairing of actors Huyền Lizzie and Duy Hưng.

The story follows Hạnh, a vegetable vendor raising two children after a traumatic marriage involving domestic abuse, and Toản, a widowed driver raising two children of his own. The narrative explores the challenges of blending two families and whether a family is defined by blood relations.

To prepare for the role of the impoverished Hạnh, Huyền Lizzie underwent a physical transformation, losing 4-5kg and using makeup to add a birthmark to her face to move away from her typical portrayals of modern, successful women.
