Release of Yeon Sang-ho film Zona Cero

Overview

Director Yeon Sang-ho, recognized for ‘Train to Busan’, has released his new horror film ‘Zona Cero’ (also known as ‘Colony’ or ‘Gunche’). Following a screening at the Cannes Film Festival, the film has been released in cinemas across Latin America.

The film is set during an international biotechnology congress and depicts a viral mutation triggered by a former scientist. The plot follows survivors, including researcher Kwon Se-jeong, as they attempt to resist a plague characterized by infected individuals who operate with hive-mind intelligence.

In addition to its general release, the film is scheduled to have a special premiere in São Paulo on October 1 as part of the opening night of the fourth Korean Film Festival (KOFF).
