Religious vandalism incidents in Poland

Recent reports indicate instances of vandalism targeting religious figures and shrines in Poland.

In Wrocław, a roadside figure of Christ in the Stabłowice district was vandalized for the second time in several weeks. After local residents had funded a replacement for a figure destroyed in August, an unknown individual reportedly demolished the new replacement. Archbishop Józef Kupny of Wrocław called for the community to respond with “goodness rather than division,” while police continue to investigate the incident.

In Radom, a century-old shrine was also targeted. The vandalism involved pouring paint over the structure and causing damage to the pedestal, the figure of the Virgin Mary, the interior niche, and the protective glass. Father Roman Adamczyk, the local parish priest, characterized the act as “blasphemous against God and believers.” The shrine, established in 1930, is noted for its historical significance.
