Renault automotive product launches in Japan

Overview

Renault Japon has expanded its vehicle lineup in the Japanese market through the introduction of hybrid and electric models.

In mid-October, the company launched the Renault Captur Esprit Alpine Full Hybrid E-TECH. This updated compact SUV features a 1.8L direct-injection gasoline engine and an increased 1.4kWh battery capacity, raising the system output to 158 PS. The model includes Google-integrated infotainment via the ‘openR link’ system.

Following this, Renault announced the upcoming November 19 release of the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric. This marks the brand’s first official electric vehicle introduction in Japan. The French-produced compact EV features a 52kWh battery with a 405km range and incorporates retro design elements inspired by the original 1972 model.
