Renault labor agreement in Argentina

Overview

Renault and the SMATA union in Argentina have reached an agreement to implement a ‘hours bank’ system at the Santa Isabel plant in Córdoba. Supported by the Ministry of Human Capital and facilitated by the Labor Modernization Law, the system allows approximately 1,200 workers to accumulate credits from additional hours worked during high-production periods. These credits can be used as time off during periods of lower demand, aiming to prevent worker suspensions and improve industrial competitiveness in Brazilian and European markets. This arrangement follows a 400 million euro investment for the production of the new Renault Niagara pickup truck.
