Renault Symbioz market launch and performance

The Renault Symbioz has been evaluated through technical testing and market deployment.

A long-distance test of the Renault Symbioz Techno, which includes a factory LPG installation, assessed its Google-based openR link 10.4" multimedia system and Harman Kardon audio. The system demonstrated reliable performance and stable connectivity with Android and iPhone devices over a 1,000-kilometer journey, though the GPS experienced two brief instances of losing the route. The vehicle was noted to have less sound insulation than higher-end models, necessitating higher audio volumes at speeds above 120 km/h.

In the Australian market, Renault has officially launched the Symbioz as a replacement for the Captur. The new small SUV is larger than its predecessor, offering nearly 100 liters of additional boot capacity. Renault Australia positioned the Symbioz to better compete within its current lineup and against segment leaders such as the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. Glen Sealey, General Manager of Renault Australia, noted that while a Captur update was expected in late 2025, it did not materialize for the Australian market.

Further testing of the Symbioz as a compact family SUV positioned between the Captur and the Austral highlighted its 1.6 E-Tech 145 hp full hybrid engine. The vehicle demonstrated efficiency in urban environments, with fuel consumption as low as 5 to 6 liters per 100 km. While the interior features a modern 26.4 cm Google-managed touchscreen and practical elements like a sliding rear bench, testers noted technical drawbacks, including occasional irritation during gear shifts and a lack of transmission responsiveness during highway acceleration.
