Resident Evil film promotion and box office in Japan

Overview

Promotional activities for the new Resident Evil film, directed by Zach Cregger, have centered on its Japanese dubbing cast. During an initial promotional stage event, voice actors Saori Hayami, Hiro Shimono, and Tomokazu Sugita participated, though Sumire Uesaka was absent due to illness.

Following the film's release, Shimono and Hayami released a discussion video containing spoilers. Shimono characterized the intense recording process as an “Autumn Brian Festival” due to the emotional strain and screaming required for his role.

The film has achieved significant commercial success in Japan, earning approximately 1.37 billion yen and attracting over 800,000 viewers within its first ten days, representing one of the highest global sales for the franchise.
