Residential development proposals in Algete and El Molar

Overview

Large-scale residential development projects have been proposed in the Spanish municipalities of Algete and El Molar. The combined proposals suggest the addition of over 7,700 new dwellings, including the ‘Algete Norte’ project which aims to build between 1,200 and 1,260 homes, with a significant portion designated as protected housing.

Following these proposals, the PSOE political group in Algete has demanded greater transparency from the municipal government. Opposition members have raised concerns regarding the Environmental Scope Document from the Community of Madrid and have called for clarity on how the development will affect local infrastructure. Specific concerns include water supply, sanitation, flood risks, and the impact on traffic and public transportation, particularly regarding access from the A-1 highway.

In recent political activity, the PSOE in Algete continues to demand information regarding the large-scale urban development project.
