Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo political support allegations

Overview

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) for Barkin Ladi in Plateau State, has issued denials regarding allegations of political support for the current Nigerian administration.

Following claims that he prayed for the success of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima’s Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2027 election, Dachomo clarified that his prayers are intended for the success of Nigeria as a whole rather than the specific re-election of the current administration. He stated, “I did not pray for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima to win in 2027,” noting that his prayers aim to benefit both Muslims and Christians.

Subsequent accusations from social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, suggested that Dachomo had been compromised during an International Christian Advocacy Tour in Israel. Dachomo dismissed these claims as false and malicious, asserting that his prayers in Israel were focused on national peace, protection for persecuted communities, and divine intervention. He emphasized, “I only prayed that evil plans against Nigeria fail,” and maintained his commitment to defending the rights of persecuted groups.
