Richard Hammond speeding fines

In December 2025, former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond was caught exceeding speed limits on two separate occasions in Herefordshire. He was recorded at 68 mph in a 50 mph zone while driving a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo on the A40, and at 82 mph in a 70 mph zone while driving a Bentley Continental GT on the A50.

In July 2026, courts in England imposed penalties for both offences. One report from a UK magistrates’ court listed a total fine of £1,771, comprising two fines (£333 and £666), court costs and victim surcharges, together with seven penalty points. A second report, circulated in Greek media, gave the penalties in euros – €2,070 total (fines of €778 and €389, plus costs and tax) – and also noted the seven penalty points, leaving Hammond five points short of a licence suspension.

Both accounts highlight the same legal outcome: Hammond received financial penalties and points on his licence for the two speeding incidents, underscoring routine traffic‑law enforcement despite his high‑profile status.
