Regarding the 2027 season, the AFA has announced the introduction of the ‘Recopa de Campeones,’ a new official tournament utilizing a triangular format featuring the winners of the Copa Argentina, Supercopa Argentina, and Supercopa Internacional. This addition will bring the total number of official annual competitions to eight. Further AFA updates include a commitment to playing playoff semifinals and finals at neutral venues with access for both fan bases, alongside ongoing discussions to align Argentine transfer windows with European and Conmebol standards. The AFA also plans to maintain the use of extra time in playoff stages.
