Robotics technology developments at WRC 2026
Overview
During the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC) in Beijing, multiple Chinese robotics firms showcased advancements in embodied intelligence and mobility systems.
Galileo Robotics introduced the Galileo X, described as an “Embodied Ground Mobility System.” The platform aims to bridge the gap between wheeled automated guided vehicles, off-road vehicles, and legged quadruped robots through a unified hardware and control framework. It is designed for applications ranging from warehouse logistics to serving as a mobile chassis for humanoid robots.
Galaxea AI presented various industrial applications of embodied AI, including a closed-loop robotic darkstore fulfillment system and a “robot-to-robot assembly” application using reinforcement learning. The company also debuted Nexo, a wheeled dual-arm robot, and its humanoid robot, Kengo, as part of a strategy to integrate hardware with embodied foundation models.
