Rockwell Automation technology and support expansions

Rockwell Automation has introduced new technological integrations and support services aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency through artificial intelligence and remote assistance.

In mid-August, the company announced an API-enabled integration between its Plex Quality Management System (QMS) and FactoryTalk Analytics VisionAI. This development connects AI-powered visual inspection to QMS workflows to improve defect detection, traceability, and product serialization. The initiative is part of a strategy to expand AI and machine learning across Rockwell’s offerings, including edge AI and digital twins.

By late August, Rockwell Automation launched TechConnectIQ, a modernized remote support service. Designed to reduce downtime and address shortages in on-site expertise, the service provides 24/7 access to technical support engineers. It utilizes AI-driven tools, such as augmented reality guidance and federated search, to assist with the installation and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems. The service is currently available for single-site contract customers in North America, with plans for regional expansion by 2027.
