Romanian design and fashion industry events

Overview

In late September 2026, Bucharest hosted the seventh edition of Romanian Jewelry Week, featuring over 300 designers from more than 50 countries and the inaugural Romanian Jewelry Week Summit 2026. Following this, Romanian Fashion Week concluded its RCW X Bucharest 2026 edition, showcasing a record 28 designers presenting Spring-Summer 2027 collections. Curated by Ovidiu Buta at the TVR studios, the event featured both emerging talent in the ‘New Wave’ segment and established names. Founder Irina Schrotter noted that the record participation confirms the growth of the Romanian fashion scene and the importance of intergenerational circulation. As the season progresses, the Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week SS’27 is scheduled for October 13 to 17. This edition aims to integrate art and performance with designers from Romania and international participants from Italy, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, and Kazakhstan. The event will introduce a new Fashion Art Division, a menswear brand, and wellness-focused programming, alongside a ‘Design in Dialogue’ conference exploring fashion’s intersection with architecture, film, and music. Simultaneously, the second edition of Romanian Creative Week concluded with a focus on fashion and cinema. The film component included a showcase titled ‘Three Perspectives on Migration,’ highlighting directors such as Radu Jude and Tudor Cristian Jurgiu, while emphasizing connections between the Romanian film industry and international markets. During the Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week, participants have emphasized creativity, extravagance, and unconventional accessories. Attendees, including TV presenter Andreea Esca, have embraced the experimental atmosphere, with Esca noting the opportunity to step out of her comfort zone through the use of unconventional items like a dog-shaped handbag. The event, which showcases Spring-Summer 2027 collections, is scheduled to conclude on October 17. Following the main event, eight Italian textile and fashion brands presented their Spring/Summer 2027 collections at the Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week Showroom.
