Initial developments included the installation of smart intensive care beds at the Galaţi County Hospital through the EU-funded ‘Brain is a Priority’ project. Additionally, the Saint Mary Children’s Hospital in Iaşi prepared to reopen its Intensive Care and Anesthesia unit following a period of reduced operations caused by a Serratia marcescens outbreak.
Subsequent investments focused on specialized surgical and diagnostic capabilities. The Prof. Dr. Nicolae Oblu Clinical Emergency Hospital in Iaşi invested over 5.5 million lei in piezoelectric surgical systems and spinal surgery tables to enhance neurosurgical precision. Meanwhile, the municipal hospital in Corabia upgraded its outpatient clinic with 1.7 million euros worth of medical imaging and recovery apparatus to improve local access to rehabilitation and diagnostic services.
