Overview

Romanian municipalities are introducing various urban mobility and infrastructure measures. In Zone B, rates are lower, such as 90 lei per day for 5–7.5 ton vehicles. Violations, including driving without authorization, could result in fines between 5,000 and 10,000 lei, monitored via on-site checks or video surveillance.

Simultaneously, other regions are addressing urban congestion through parking solutions. In Vaslui, authorities approved a new parking facility at the old bazaar site featuring standard spots, bicycle and motorcycle spaces, and electric vehicle charging stations. In Bucharest, officials are exploring nighttime residential subscriptions for hypermarket parking lots, potentially between 21:00 and 08:00. While Kaufland has already implemented a subscription model in parts of Bucharest, Sector 6 interim mayor Paul Moldovan noted that if operators only allocate approximately 5% of spaces to such services, the impact on local shortages may be limited.
