Overview

The Royal Mail is releasing a special postage stamp collection to honor the career of the British band Duran Duran. The collection commemorates the group’s longevity, spanning from their 1981 debut to 2021’s ‘Future Past’.

The set features eight stamps inspired by various album covers, including ‘Rio’, ‘Notorious’, and ‘Paper Gods’. It also includes a miniature sheet of four stamps based on international tour posters ranging from the 1981 ‘Careless Memories Tour’ to the 2022 ‘Invisible Tour’. In a first for Royal Mail history, printed designs will also appear on the reverse side of the stamps.

Band members Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes have described the recognition as a “massive visual validation” and a “true honor.” The collection, which includes postcards and posters, joins previous musical legends such as The Who and the Spice Girls in receiving similar postal honors.
