Overview

The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) announced its 2026 Class of Fellows and College Members, honoring 159 scholars, artists, and scientists. The group consists of 105 newly elected Fellows and 54 members of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.

Recognized honorees include researchers from the University of British Columbia for work in sustainable agriculture, fish adaptation, and plant immune response, as well as freshwater ecologist Dr. Julian Olden. RSC President Françoise Baylis noted that the inductees represent diverse fields including medicine, technology, climate research, literature, and reconciliation efforts. An official induction ceremony is scheduled for November 13, 2026, in Ottawa.
