RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro smartphone launch

RugOne, a brand under Ulefone, introduced the Xsnap 7 Pro rugged smartphone at the IFA trade show in Berlin. The device is characterized by a modular design featuring a detachable, magnetic cubic camera module. This 39-gram module can record video at 2.7K resolution at 30 fps with a 133-degree wide angle, includes 64GB of internal storage, and can operate independently for up to 40 minutes. It is waterproof up to five meters and can be mounted on body gear or bicycles. The smartphone acts as a charging station for the module, with its 9,300 mAh battery capable of recharging the camera up to 20 times.

Technical specifications for the Xsnap 7 Pro include a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset, 5G connectivity, and a 6.67-inch AMOLED 1.5K display. The device features 12GB of RAM, expandable by an additional 12GB, and 512GB of internal storage. Built for durability, it carries IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H certifications. Additional features include a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 64-megapixel infrared camera for night vision, and a FLIR thermal imaging camera for industrial applications.

Pre-orders for the device have launched on Kickstarter with an early-bird price of €799. A full retail release is expected in October at $999.
