Running and sporting events in Poland

Overview

Various running and sporting events continue to be organized across Poland, maintaining a strong focus on charity, social integration, and community engagement.

Charitable initiatives remain a central theme. The RakReaton challenge continues its goal to cover 1,200,000 kilometers to raise 120,000 PLN for children with cancer. The 10th anniversary of the PKO Charity Run involves over 7,000 participants across 20 cities to support youth mental health, while the Poland Business Run continues to support people with disabilities through corporate relay races in Krakow and Warsaw. Recent community efforts include a football tournament in Raszczyce to raise funds for former policeman Wojtek Pielczyk and the Bieg KoBBiet in Bielsko-Biała, which raised over 11,000 PLN for the National Autism Association.

Community and commemorative efforts persist, such as the IX Jastrzębski Dog Trekking for animal shelters, the 64th Westerplatte Run in Gdańsk—which saw record attendance of over 3,800 participants—and the ‘Świebodzice na Borową’ march dedicated to the memory of Agata Kalafut to support the Rakiety Foundation. Other social initiatives include the DobroDzień event in Tarnów and the ‘Marsz dla Zdrowia Psychicznego’ in Sopot.

Athletic achievements and upcoming competitions also feature prominently. The 46th International Świnoujście–Wolgast Marathon concluded on September 5, 2026, featuring a half marathon and relay race that brought together participants from Poland and Germany. Following this, the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon concluded with a record turnout of over 6,500 registered runners. The Szczecin weekend of activities included a Saturday parkrun at Arkonka and the PKO Pirate Run, a flagship event for children aged 1 to 12 that saw more than 900 young participants.
