President Zelenskyy has expressed readiness to meet with Putin to discuss ending the war, potentially at the upcoming G20 summit in Miami. However, the Kremlin has rejected this, with Peskov stating a meeting between the two leaders is ‘impossible’ anywhere other than Moscow.

Amidst these diplomatic maneuvers, tensions have escalated on the battlefield and in rhetoric. President Putin warned that the deployment of European military troops to Ukrainian territory would be equivalent to a ‘direct war with Russia.’ Additionally, reports indicated a Ukrainian drone strike in the Russian republic of Tatarstan, resulting in two fatalities and several injuries. Russia continues to demand international recognition of its annexed territories, conditions which Kyiv rejects as a capitulation.
