Rwanda-Pakistan economic and trade relations
Overview
Rwanda and Pakistan initiated a series of diplomatic and economic engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral commerce. In mid-September 2026, the Rwanda High Commission in Pakistan announced the Rwanda-Pakistan Investment Forum, scheduled for September 23–25 in Kigali. The forum was designed to bring a Pakistani business delegation to Rwanda to engage with government and private-sector leaders, with the goal of signing a Bilateral Trade Agreement to expand cooperation in manufacturing, technology, and investment.
Following the forum, the Pakistan-Rwanda Trade Cooperation Agreement was finalized. Business leaders and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) welcomed the agreement, noting that it establishes a framework for private-sector cooperation in sectors such as agriculture and manufacturing. The agreement leverages Rwanda’s position as a strategic gateway for Pakistani companies to access broader African markets.
