Overview
Governments in Chad, Mali, and Mauritania are conducting various assessments of national development programs and presidential initiatives.
In Chad, authorities have reviewed the first two years of President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s five-year political programme, which includes 12 strategic projects and 100 priority actions. Subsequent field missions in the Ouaddaï province have been deployed to evaluate the impact of public works and identify causes for delays in priority projects, such as the Mother-Child Hospital and various road and water infrastructure.
Mali’s transitional authorities completed a five-year assessment of the “refondation” and “Mali Kura” plan, reporting on reforms in governance, security, and the economy, including new mining codes and local development fund distributions. Meanwhile, in Mauritania, monitoring committees have inspected infrastructure sites in Dabbé, including bridges, boreholes, and school construction, as part of President Mohamed Cheikh El Ghazouani’s emergency programs.
