Saint Michael religious and community festivities

Overview

Community celebrations and religious observances dedicated to Saint Michael have been reported across different regions.

In one instance, approximately 1,500 pilgrims participated in a 32-kilometer journey between Guarantã do Norte and Novo Mundo. The pilgrimage included a sending Mass and designated rest points to support walkers of various ages.

Other festivities were held in Pitingal and Penela. In Pitingal, the Festa do Padroeiro São Miguel featured religious activities, a vintage car meeting, and musical performances. In Penela, a five-day program combined Saint Michael festivals with the FAGRIP and a traditional Walnut and Onion Fair, attracting a large number of visitors and featuring over 100 exhibitors.
