Saltillo breast cancer survivor support initiative

Overview

The Saltillo Municipal Government, via the Municipal Women's Institute, has launched the ‘Puntadas de Amor’ (Stitches of Love) workshop. This initiative aims to produce 600 handmade breast prostheses using soft, breathable textiles to be distributed free of charge to breast cancer survivors who have undergone mastectomies.

Founded by survivor Liliana Gámez Pérez, the project involves workshops held at various institutions to manufacture the prostheses. The program also incorporates educational talks regarding the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection to support the physical and emotional well-being of survivors.
