SAMEEP water infrastructure projects in Chaco

Overview

The water utility company SAMEEP has undertaken several infrastructure projects in Argentina’s Chaco province to improve water and sewage services.

In mid-August, the company completed a strategic connection between the Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña pumping station and Avia Terai as part of the Segundo Acueducto del Interior. This project involved replacing a 450-millimeter PEAD pipe with a 900-millimeter steel pipe to double transport capacity. According to SAMEEP president Nicolás Diez, the permanent infrastructure is designed to meet current and future demand for multiple towns, including Charata, General Pinedo, and Hermoso Campo.

By late August, SAMEEP shifted focus toward localized maintenance and optimization. Technical teams performed repairs on a central sewage well impulse pipe and a potable water pipe in Villa Ángela, while also installing a new pump at a reverse osmosis plant in Santa Sylvina to strengthen the local water supply.

In late August, SAMEEP expanded its operational scope by taking over water service provision from a local cooperative in Puerto Tirol. Technical teams in that area are conducting a comprehensive survey of the network, identifying and repairing numerous leaks to improve service efficiency and infrastructure stability for local families.
