Samsung Galaxy tablet series and SmartTag3 developments

Overview

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Tab S12 series, comprising the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12+. Both models are powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, which delivers a 61% faster NPU for AI tasks, a 19% faster CPU, and a 17% faster GPU compared to previous generations.

The S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and is noted as Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab to date at 5.1mm. The S12+ provides a 12.6-inch screen option. Both devices include IP68 dust and water resistance, support the S Pen, and reach a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.

A central focus of the launch is the integration of Galaxy AI for research, note-taking, and multitasking. The tablets run Android 17 with One UI 9. Software bundles include a six-month trial of Google AI Pro alongside pre-loaded applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Notability, and LumaFusion. Additionally, new keyboard accessories have been introduced, featuring a dedicated Galaxy AI key to provide quick access to assistants including Bixby, Gemini, or Perplexity.
