San Antonio infant abandonment incident

An 18-year-old woman, Karla Ibarra, was arrested in San Antonio, Texas, following an attempt to abandon her one-month-old son at a downtown bus stop.

Reports indicate that Ibarra approached a stranger, Jennifer Benavides, under the pretense of borrowing a phone, but instead attempted to hand over the infant along with his birth certificate, Medicaid card, and Social Security card. While Benavides attempted to assist by taking the mother and child to a friend's home, Ibarra reportedly fled the scene in an Uber.
