San Blas image restoration in Aracena
Overview
The image of San Blas, the patron saint of Aracena, has been returned to the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción following an extensive restoration process. The work, performed at the workshops of restorer Jesús Mendoza, aimed to improve the sculpture’s structure and polychromy to recover its original luster.
The restoration was supported by a 6,600 euro municipal investment through a collaboration agreement between the Aracena City Council and the Hermandad de la Borriquita. Local officials emphasized the importance of preserving this heritage, noting the figure has been central to local devotion since its donation in 1945. The restored figure is scheduled to participate in upcoming festivities on February 3.
