The Santa Caterina del Sasso hermitage on Lake Maggiore has introduced an autumn initiative titled ‘I mercoledì dell’Eremo’ (The Wednesdays of the Hermitage). Managed by Archeologistics for the Province of Varese, the program offers guided historical and spiritual tours paired with seasonal menus featuring local products at the Locanda Ristoro dell’Eremo.

Designed to provide a tranquil experience during the quieter autumn months, the program includes mandatory reservations. In addition to the weekly Wednesday sessions, the site announced extraordinary openings on October 29 and 30, 2026, to allow visitors to explore the 12th-century complex, its frescoes, and its rock-face location.
