Public transportation in Santo Domingo is transitioning toward an integrated fare system across different transit modes.

On August 10, the Metropolitan Bus Service Operator (OMSA) launched the Corredor 27 de Febrero using an integrated fare of RD$35.00. This system allows passengers to connect the corridor with the Metro and Teleférico within a 90-minute window, provided they use electronic payment methods such as the Tarjeta Metro, SDGO, or contactless credit and debit cards. To support this, OMSA increased service capacity by adding articulated and rigid bus units.

Following this, the free service period for the Santo Domingo Metro Line 2C concluded. The Empresa Metropolitana de Transporte (EMT) implemented a standard fare of RD$20 per trip, while maintaining the RD$35 integrated fare for users combining the Metro, Teleférico, and buses. The Line 2C extension, a 7.3-kilometer addition to Line 2, aims to provide mobility alternatives for residents of Los Alcarrizos to bypass congestion on the Duarte Highway.
