Sarmiento Line railway infrastructure renovations
Overview
Renovation works are progressing on the Sarmiento Line in Argentina as part of a Railway Emergency Action Plan managed by Trenes Argentinos.
At Morón Station, projects include the construction of new platforms, improved accessibility via ramps, and the renovation of access halls, sidewalks, and ticket offices. Upgrades also involve LED lighting, new signage, and improved electrical and sanitary facilities. To maintain service, a temporary platform was implemented in January to facilitate the reconstruction of the north platform.
At Ramos Mejía Station, work is nearing completion on a new central platform intended to provide more circulation alternatives for trains. Interventions at this site also include work on the historic railway building and the completion of previously unfinished infrastructure.
