Science and cultural education initiatives in Argentina
Overview
Educational and cultural institutions in Argentina have implemented various initiatives to promote science, biodiversity, and ancestral traditions.
In late July, the Colegio del Uruguay in Entre Ríos launched an Interactive Botanical Circuit using QR codes to provide information about its historic garden. Concurrently, in San Salvador de Jujuy, the Barón Carlos María Schuel Botanic Park held a lecture on citizen science to teach volunteers how to use digital tools for biodiversity monitoring.
By mid-August, activities expanded to include scientific commerce and astronomical workshops. The Interactive Science Museum at the National University of Córdoba launched a digital store featuring scientific experiment kits for Children’s Day. Additionally, in Olavarría, the Municipal Museum of Sciences hosted the ‘Constellations of the Pachamama’ event, which combined oral storytelling with workshops to explore how Andean cosmovision uses dark constellations to track agricultural and climatic cycles.
