Seasonal cultural programming launches
Overview
Cultural institutions in France, Canada, and Switzerland have begun launching new seasonal programming. In France, venues such as the Abbaye Royale de l’Épau and the Halle aux Grains in Toulouse have introduced music, light, and sound events, while Canadian and Swiss organizations have debuted new dance themes and circus performances.
Specific municipal launches in France are now detailed for the 2026-2027 season. In Épinal, the Omega Spectacles program begins October 4 at the Auditorium de la Louvière with Alex Vizorek’s show ‘2 1/2’, followed by Sandrine Sarroche on October 10 and Julien Santini on November 14. In Falaise, the Forum theater opens its season on October 1 with ‘Dark’, a production regarding Joan of Arc. This launch coincides with a reorganization of local cultural services that integrates the Forum, Micro-Folie, and the Musée des Automates, the latter of which will host five exhibitions.
Other French organizations have also announced October schedules. La BIG has planned the ‘Fantasmes’ exhibition by Mathilde Gérardeaux, participatory workshops on memory, and live readings by the Bibliothèque Départementale du Lot. Their lineup also includes the itinerant exhibition ‘Sanctuaire’, an ecological thriller titled ‘Jusqu’à la dernière goutte’, and the performance ‘Les Eaux Vives’. Additionally, La Maioun is hosting community activities such as intergenerational dance fitness, pottery, mushroom foraging, and various workshops for children and adults.
In southern France, the Millau en Jazz festival has unveiled its 2026/2027 season, featuring performers such as Raphaël Imbert, Célia Kameni, João Selva, and Marion Rampal with events spanning from December through May. In the Marseille region, the association Arts et Musiques has scheduled ‘La Voie est Libre’ for October 18, a solar-powered pedestrian event at the Corniche Kennedy. The association is also prioritizing educational outreach, planning 28 educational actions in middle schools across the Bouches-du-Rhône department for the 2026-2027 school year.
