Secihti technological and scientific partnerships in Mexico

Overview

The Mexican Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (Secihti) has entered into multiple strategic partnerships to advance technological and scientific capabilities in the country.

Secihti signed a Framework Collaboration Agreement with the National Chamber of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry (Canifarma) to drive joint scientific research and technological innovation. This partnership aims to strengthen Mexico’s national pharmaceutical capabilities and address domestic health challenges through industrial application. Rosaura Ruiz Gutiérrez, head of Secihti, noted that the agreement seeks to “bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and industrial application,” specifically through dual education programs that allow students to participate in practical industry projects.

Additionally, Secihti signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to develop specialized talent in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. This initiative aims to integrate advanced computing into scientific disciplines such as biology, energy, and climate science through academic workshops and knowledge exchange, providing researchers with the infrastructure necessary to process complex datasets.
