Sector 6 municipal management issues
Overview
Authorities in Bucharest’s Sector 6 addressed resident complaints regarding vehicles parked on sidewalks and abandoned on streets. The City Hall reported identifying 1,164 abandoned or ownerless vehicles, though they noted they can currently only issue removal orders for 44 of them.
Officials explained that existing legislation mandates a minimum six-month waiting period after notifying owners before a vehicle can be removed. The municipality stated it removes approximately 250 such vehicles annually to reclaim public space.
