SEGAS athletic season planning

The Hellenic Amateur Athletic Association (SEGAS) has established frameworks for upcoming athletic seasons. For the 2026 season, the board approved athlete categories consisting of a distinguished tier and four subsequent levels for those excelling in national team competitions. This structure includes pre-national teams for U23, U20, and U18 levels, alongside a support category for approximately 300 members.

The 2026 plan also incorporates a winter indoor track and field program across various cities, including Paiania, Thessaloniki, and Rhodes. Additionally, the U20 Panhellenic Championship was approved to include U18 athletes to prepare for the Balkan Games.

Looking toward 2027, SEGAS released a competition calendar featuring both indoor and outdoor events. The 2027 schedule includes the U20 National Indoor Championship in January, the Spring Games, and the Balkan Championships in Volos during June. The National Outdoor Championship for seniors is scheduled for late July and early August, while the timing for the senior National Indoor Championship remains subject to Balkan Union scheduling.
